I got a ticket doing 87 in a 65 last weekend.
For once, the officer wasn’t a jackass. Usually, a speeding ticket comes with a text book lecture (yeah, i’ve got at least a half dozen tickets under my belt). This time, it didn’t even take 5 minutes. It was a simple “Here’s your ticket” stop. He didn’t even tell me to slow down. Why would he? I just helped pay his salary.
So, I guess I can’t be convinced to slow down even after a $200.00 ticket.
I think I’ve had 7 tickets in my life. That is about 1 ticket every 2.5 years.
If I continue with an average of 1 ticket every 2.5 years, and am still driving at age 75, I can look forward to another 17 speeding tickets in my lifetime. That will equal $3500 in fines and over 50 hours of defensive driving.
Well, at least I know what to look forward to.
